Over 50 people has been killed and more than 200 injured in an open air gun fire in Las Vegas at the country music festival. The Las Vegas Mass Shooting was caused by a 64-year-old gunman Stephen Paddock, as he launched an attack from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, unloading hundreds of rounds of ammunition from a semi-automatic weapon towards concert-goers.
During the Las Vegas Mass shooting, not less than 40,000 people take cover as hundreds of rounds of shots rained down on the crowd during the Route 91 Harvest Festival at shortly after 10pm on Sunday local time (6am Monday BST).
The Stephen Paddock motive is yet still unknown, but police believe he is the only one involved in the act. Police said he is “not believed to be connected to any militant group”, stating: “We have no idea what his belief system was.”
The Las Vegas sheriff said Paddock’s female travelling companion, a 62-year-old Marilou Danley was being sought as a “person of interest”. Police later said they were confident she had been located.
The US President Donald Trump has posted on Twitter, saying “warmest condolences and sympathies” are with the Las Vegas victims and their families.
